My name is Beacon Gallardo & I want to share with you my journey as a Barista at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. On May 5, 2023, I had a first training at PHINMA in Rockwell Makati, for Ice Blended Drinks & I trained how to make them. I studied the ingredients of Ice Blended Drinks then I took the exam. Then, I pass the Exam & my score is 28/30. I wake up early because my work starts 7:00am and ends at 4:00pm. First, my mom brings me to work and picks me up after work. But I learn how to book Grab car on my own when she is busy. I send her the Grab tracker, so she knows when I arrive home. During my internship as Barista, I learned how to make Ice Blended Drinks & I serve it to the Guests or Customers. I also know how to clear the table & workstation. After 1 year of internship, for Ice Blended Coffee, I had a second training, and it is for Espresso & Brew. I had Second Training in Rada, Makati. I studied the Coffee & Espresso & Tea & Tea Latte, and it is difficult. After That, I studied the ingredients and the instructions for Espresso & Brew then I took the Exam. When I asked the same question but for their children with special needs, their answers were starkly different. “Few, none, I don’t know, limited.” The room stayed quiet, with everyone reflecting on the obvious, but then unspoken difference. Unfortunately, my score is only 23/30 that's why I must take the exam again. I reviewed the ingredients again with my mom and with the help of the trainers & coaches, I made it. I know how to make Coffee & Espresso & Tea & Tea Latte, but I didn't memorize, I just I figured it out. 3 months ago, I ready to sign the employment contract with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I need to submit the documents. I go to SSS, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth, Police Clearance, NBI Clearance and medical checkup, then I signed the contract. I should be a good employee of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I'll be always on time for work and use the Great Day App. I'll be polite, respectful and positive. I have lots of visitors who ordered coffee: my mom's officemates & her boss, and especially my cousins & my Tita & Tito & My friend David & his mom when I saw them walking by. They also ordered coffee and some snacks. My workmates are also helping and teaching me how to make perfect coffee art. And I made it. My first supervisor, Sir Jeric, and Sir Micko and Ma'am Jen and Ma'am Kim. My 3 favorite guest/customer names are Sir Allan, Sir Malcolm, & Sir Eugene. Every morning, Sir Allan bought regular hot americano for his boss & his boss is Japanese. Sir Malcolm order large hot Americano for himself & he's British & he's from England. Sir Eugene order cappuccino or any coffee for himself. Sometimes, I want to have day off on the holidays but my mom says it's ok. Now, I work Monday to Saturday and on holidays. I already have a salary & I'm saving until December so I can buy anything for Christmas. Thank you, The Vanguard Academy & the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf & I'm all ready for work.
